Agility Trial 101

...how to compete in agility with your dog

This page is intended to serve as a resource for first time competitors.

Step 1 - Train your dog. Your instructor can tell you if you and your dog are ready to enter the wild wonderful world of competition!!

Step 2 - Choose an organization to join- or join more than one! Organizations and links are listed below. The majority of dogs that train at Town and Country compete in AKC or CPE - this is no endorsement of either or "un-endorsement" of the others, it's just logistically how it shakes out. It's fun to compete with your teammates. But we have had students that have had fun competing with all of these organizations.

AKC - American Kennel Club
